Proprieter Gary Hartig had always been interested in Chicago's archetural history and art. His passion turned into buying and collecting Chicago artifacts, art, and eventually antique furniture.  When his home, garage, basement and werehouse became full he decided to open a store in his hometown naighborhood of Lincoln Square.
